Selangor Sukma 2026 Special Public Holiday

This special one-off public holiday was declared by the Selangor state government to celebrate the state contingent's outstanding performance at the 2026 Malaysia Games (Sukma), held in Shah Alam. Selangor topped the medal table with 101 gold, 73 silver and 71 bronze medals — comfortably beating its target of 80 golds and securing its 10th overall Sukma title in 28 years. Announcing the holiday at the closing ceremony, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said it was a token of appreciation to every athlete, coach, contingent official and the 10,000 volunteers who contributed throughout the Games.
