State Holiday

While the first two days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri are national holidays, the third day is specifically observed as a state public holiday in Kelantan and Terengganu. This reflects the longer and more traditional celebration of Eid in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, allowing more time for community bonding and spiritual activities.

Traditions & Celebrations

Extended "Ziarah": In these states, the tradition of visiting distant relatives in remote villages continues actively into the third day.
Community Feasts: Many local communities or mosques organize "Kenduri" (communal feasts) to celebrate the festive season together.
Traditional Games: In some rural areas, traditional Malay games and cultural performances are held to entertain the community during this extended break.
Charity and Alms: Muslims continue the spirit of "Sedekah" (charity) by hosting less fortunate members of the community or donating to local funds.
