This two-day state public holiday celebrates the official birthday of the Sultan of Kelantan. As the Sovereign and the Head of Islam in the state, the Sultan is a symbol of Kelantan's deep-rooted cultural and religious identity. The celebration allows the people to honor the Royal Institution and show their loyalty to the Ruler.

Traditions & Celebrations

Grand Investiture Ceremony: A formal ceremony is held at the Istana Balai Besar in Kota Bharu, where the Sultan confers state awards and medals to individuals for their loyalty and exceptional service.
State Parade: A ceremonial parade is performed by the military and police, often accompanied by cultural troupes representing the unique heritage of Kelantan.
Religious Prayers: Special thanksgiving prayers and Doa Selamat are organized at the Muhammadi State Mosque and mosques throughout the state for the health and longevity of the Sultan.
Public Gatherings: Traditional sports and cultural performances, such as Dikir Barat or martial arts demonstrations, are sometimes organized to bring the community together in celebration.
