This state public holiday celebrates the official birthday of the Raja of Perlis. As the constitutional Head of State and the Head of Islam in Perlis, the Raja’s birthday is a significant occasion for the people of the state to demonstrate their loyalty and appreciation for the sovereign.

Traditions & Celebrations

Investiture Ceremony: A formal ceremony is held at the palace where the Raja confers state titles and medals on individuals who have shown exemplary service to the state.
Thanksgiving Prayers: Special religious services and Doa Selamat are conducted at the State Mosque and other mosques across Perlis to pray for the Ruler's health and wisdom.
Royal Banquet: The state government organizes official dinners or tea parties attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and civil servants.
State Decorations: Government buildings and main roads are adorned with the yellow and blue state flags and decorative illuminations.
