The Day of Arafah falls on the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the most significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage, occurring the day before Hari Raya Aidiladha. For Muslims, this is a day of profound spiritual importance, mercy, and the seeking of forgiveness.

Traditions & Celebrations

Fasting: It is highly recommended for Muslims who are not performing Hajj to fast on this day, as it is believed to expiate sins from the previous and coming year.
Special Prayers and Supplications: Muslims spend the day in intense prayer (Dua), repentance, and remembrance of God, seeking blessings and spiritual purification.
Sermons: In many mosques, special sermons are delivered to explain the significance of the Day of Arafah and the trials of the Prophet Ibrahim and his family.
Preparation for Aidiladha: Families use this time to prepare for the Korban (sacrifice) rituals and festivities of the following day.
